It’s a little milestone for me, but a nice one. Our video of “Blue Danube of Mine” has hit the score of 5,000 views on YouTube, which is nice. We shot the video in Los Angeles, in the iconic “dry river” (a roundabout reference to the River Danube 😉 ).
It was a really hot day, and it was fascinating to be shooting in a location that has seen so many movie milestones already. It has been used for several car chases, and most famously the chase scene in “Terminator” with Arnold Schwarzenegger. So if you’re ever asked the connection between Schwarzy and Strauss, you have it right there. Actually there’s another connection between the two – do you know it?
I’ve been told it was also used in the musical “Grease”, but I have to admit that I didn’t see that one in full.
One of my favourite moments is right at the end, as the camera flies under a bridge you can spot a heron by the water, just sitting there minding its own business. I can’t think that it caught many fish that day!
